Introduction

Welcome to my new blog! The great English writer G.K. Chesterton, one of the most influential authors of the twentieth century, often in his writings quoted or made allusions to passages from sacred Scripture. So I wished to create a blog in which I could start posting such passages as I came across, so as to create a "commentary" of the Bible (using the term "commentary" quite loosely obviously!) complied of such passages from GKC. Of course, it is not a real commentary (especially when often such allusions are only in passing or involve an unexpected application!). However, it nevertheless does provide a unique perspective on Scripture from one of the great writers of modern times.

The name of the blog comes from Chesterton's love of swordsticks. Since the Word of God is described as a two-edged sword,  a "sword" that is so often hidden in the writings of Chesterton, just as a "sword" (so to speak) can be found hidden within a swordstick, it seemed appropriate. (Plus, admittedly I really had no idea what to name the blog, so...)
